What is Mental Health First Aid?

MHFA is a vital course in today’s working world. Mental Health education allows individuals to care for themselves and others.

There is no health without mental health. Just as physical aid is an everyday skill – MHFA trains you to recognise early warning signs, behaviours and triggers, provides you with clear, practical guidelines to follow and allows you to guide people to getting the help, support and treatment they need.

Recovery is possible and likely and with the right support staff will be able to thrive in their working enviroment

What we offer...

2 day Adult MHFA course – Accredited by MHFA England

Our two day course qualifies you as a Mental Health First Aider. Mental Health First Aiders have:

  • An in depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing
  • Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues
  • Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress
  • Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening
  • Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to further support – whether that’s self-help resources, through their employer, the NHS, or a mix.

For 8-12 people.

1 day Adult MHFA course – Accredited by MHFA England

Our one day course qualifies you as a Mental Health First Champion.

  • Delegates will gain an understanding of common mental health illnesses and be given the confidence to promote mental health awareness.
  • Focuses very much on the workplace environment, great for Line Managers
  • Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress
  • Action planning for using MHFA.

Half Day Mental Health in the workplace awareness

An introduction into the importance of mental health in the workplace. Covers a basic understand of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing.

A corporate well-being strategy analysis

Are you unsure of what your company could or should be doing?

We can do an in depth analysis of what resources you have available and how you should best be assisting your staff to ensure optimum mental health – Happy staff are more productive staff.

Mindfulness talk

Mindfulworks is run by Ellie Hale, an experienced trainer and public speaker. She spent 3 years working in the Health and Safety sector, discussing mental health and stress awareness policies. When she was personally affected by suicide – She decided to retrain as a Mental Health First Aid instructor to assist companies in supporting their staff with mental health issues.
